He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Sommer and Isabelle Sommer (Mannix); his son Chris Sommer; his in-law Wilson Cole (Ruth); and his brothers-in-law, Ken Cole and Tod Tapola.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Sommer (Cole); his daughter Melissa Donaldson (Ed); his siblings, Jim Sommer (Alicia), Jerry Sommer (Barb), Jean Bobst, Mike Sommer (Karen) and Gloria Coffield (Gary); and his sister-in-law Becky Tapola. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
