He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield and Asby; his wife Barbara Jeannine Van Hoose (Roberts); his siblings, Carl Blankenship, Clarence Blankenship, John "Okie" Blankenship, Arby Van Hoose, Hiram Van Hoose, Bertie Woodworth and Mary Ohler; his daughter-in-law Nancy Van Hoose; and his grandsons, Jaime Paul Van Hoose and Jarret Van Hoose.
He is survived by: his children, Ida Jeannine Chambers (Art), Dennis Ray Van Hoose (Pam), Bruce William Van Hoose (Karla), Donald Victor Van Hoose, Roger Allan Van Hoose (Lorrie Jo), Thomas Michael Van Hoose and James Mearl Van Hoose; his grandchildren, Antonia Kite (Rob), Gina Levy (Kirk), Andrea Roush, Stephanie Lute (Brian), Keith Davidson (Stacy), Shad Van Hoose, Mindy Van Gray (Jon), Jeremy Van Hoose, Jaci Portis (Allen), Nick Van Hoose (Tricia), Christy Smith, Nelson Smith (Angel), Randi Wagner (Chris), Vanessa Honore and Alexis Chambers; his great grandchildren, Brittany Kite, Jennifer Eckurd (Dustin), Marlee Kite, Adam Levy, Madison Lute, Megan Lute, Austin Van Hoose, Ivy Van Hoose, Dorian Van Gray, Emory Van Gray, Madyson Burrowes (Noah), Mayson Van Hoose (Kimberly), Trystan Van Hoose, Kinleigh White, Jalyn Grim (Gunner), Meah Portis, Andrie Portis, Paige Smith, Brittian Holmes (Jessica), Regina Layne (Drew), Rochelle Kincaid, Cody Kincaid, Nathan Sowers, Onyx Yorker, Amethyst Yorker, Jett Yorker and Gem Yorker; his great great grandchildren, Tucker Eckurd, Owen Burrowes, Ariyah and Myles Layne; and his close friends, Judy Rucker, Roger, Melvin Blankenship and Johnny Woodworth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
