She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Nichols and Mary Nichols (Hope); and her siblings, Millard Nichols, Raymond Nichols, Esther Sholler and Frances Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, David Smith (Connie) of Jackson, Elizabeth Heinlin (Dan) of Arizona, Shirley Dutra (Gregg) of Texas and Clifford Smith (Ethel H.) of West Liberty; her sister Addie Gould of Wilmington, Ohio; and her former husband Leo Smith of Urbana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
