He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Griffith and Rosa Griffith (Fraley); his former wife Patricia Robl (Covey); his wife Deloris Griffith; his daughter Jennifer Griffith; and his siblings, Viola Ireland, Edward, Calvin, Franklin and Melvin Griffith.
He is survived by: his family, King and Charlie; his children, Nikki Crable (Joe), Rhonda Griffith, John Griffith II, Bill Griffith (Heidi) and Jason Griffith (Amy); his stepdaughter Tammy Buckley (Rick); and his siblings, Bill Griffith (Kitty), Harrison Griffith, Sis Vanhorn (John), Marguerite Robie (Marvin), Shirley Turner and Charlotte Craig. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
