He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Swearingen and Dora Swearingen (Holmes); his siblings, Russell Swearingen, Frieda Swearingen, Harry Swearingen, Ruby Lawson and Donald Swearingen; and his grandson Austin Waller.
He is survived by: his wife Florence A. Swearingen; his children, Robin Edwards (Dean), Sheila Kite (Evan), Bill Swearingen, Mark Swearingen (Susan) and Tom Swearingen; his grandchildren, Tyler Edwards (Brittany), Stacy DuLaney (Clay), Garrett Kite (Mercedes), Olivia Kite, Ricky Swearingen, Amber Crossman (Jeremy) and Amanda Waller; his sister Ruth Aldridge; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Swearingen and Mary Fraysier (Joe). He is also survived by his 8 great-grandchildren.
