He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Sims and Blanche Sims (Follweiler); and his siblings, Harold, Roy, Lloyd Sims, Lucille Beckwith, Ila Lentz, Alta Angel and Mary Catherine Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Neva Olive Sims; his son Douglas E. Sims; and also Douglas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
