He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schaffer and Lillian Schaffer (Lawrence); his wife Linda Sue Schaffer; and his sisters, Diana Smith and Betty Lee Schaffer.
He is survived by: his children, Tabitha Settle (Brian) and Michael Schaffer (Desirae); his grandchildren, Shai-Anne, Layne, Shyla, Selena, Abby, Devin, Brandon and Michael; his siblings, Susan Schaffer, Virginia Akers, Jeffery Schaffer and Dan Schaffer; and his close friend Reggie Ohlinger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
