He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Watts and Beulah B. Thornburg (Barnett); his siblings, Betty Graeter, Paul and Lee Thornburg; and his daughter Joy Blevins.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Jeanette Thornburg (Ervin); and his children, Cindy Cozad of Urbana, Gary Thornburg of Virginia Beach, Jeff Thornburg of Speedwell and Steve Thornburg (Denise) of Urbana. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
