She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert M. Rawlings and Bertha Rawlings (Pelke); her husband Charles E. Shanklin; her daughter Janet Shanklin; and her siblings, Bertie Kaiser and Herbert Rawlings.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Shanklin, Charles R. Shanklin (Cindy), John Shanklin, Jean Brooks (Blane) and Thomas Shanklin; her grandchildren, Megan Burns (Curtis), Thomas Gustafson (Lori), Jan Morris (Spencer), David Mosher (Joan), Richard Gustafson, Laura Beth Phelps (Damon), Jamie Morley (Matthew), Molly Mosher (Javier), Weston Shanklin, Lesley Gustafson, Leighann Shanklin, Janet Sanders and Charlotte Brooks; and her sister Libbie Gradolph (Jack). She is also survived by her 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernice's memory to First Responders Children's Foundation.
