He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd S. Hale and Ida Lillie Hale (Stevenson); his wife Betty Sue Pratt; and his siblings, James Hale and Miriam Schick.
He is survived by: his children, Hank Hale (Sherry) of Auburn Hills and Barbara Hale of Puyallup; his stepgrandson Brian Bachnak; and his sisters, Alice Crabs of Rocky River and Sue Chase of Ann Arbor, Michigan..
