Thiel (Dible); his children, Shawn (Elaine), Shannon (Trudy Metcalf) and Tonya Davidson; his grandchildren, Jessica Thiel, Mallory Thiel, Josh Thiel, Dillon Davidson, Nate Rosengarten and Derek Rosengarten; his great grandchildren, Adelynn Higdon and Avery Higdon; his sisters, Roseann Dible (Bob), Carolyn Kear (Troy), Susan Thiel and Marlene Maag (Jeff); his sister-in-law Shelley Morris; and his brothers, Earl Thiel Jr. and Kenneth Thiel.
