He was predeceased by: his father Alex Kozie; and his grandparents, Anna, Stanley Kozie, Kathleen, Frank Maynard and Stacey Lee Roney.

He is survived by: his sons, Brandon Owens-Kozie and Gabriel Owens-Kozie of Lorain; his grandchildren, Brandon Lee Owens-Kozie of Lorain, Elijah Cecil Owens-Kozie of Lorain and Zephyr Yuma Owens-Kozie of Lorain; his mother Naomi Kozie-Peak (Brenda) of University Heights; his sisters, Stephanie Bailor (Andrew) of Vermilion and Rachel Kozie of Blissfield, Mi; his cousin Christopher Cox (Carrie); his nieces, Victoria Bailor, Emily Bailor and Alexis Shinsky; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Zaylin Nay, Azella Nay and Cameron White.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
