He is survived by: his children, John of Canton, Paul (Carol) of Cumming, JoBeth Burns-Womack (Ray) of Columbus and Rebecca Howard of Little Rock; his stepson Nicholas Valenti (Lindsay) of North Ridgeville; his grandchildren, Amelia Burns, Marissa Sheila Valenti, Sajeev Howard, Duncan Howard, Griffin Burns and Ryan Valenti; and his niece Barbara Burns (Joe Richter) of Scottsdale.
