She was predeceased by: her husband James Burns; and her sister Myrtle Gitzlaff. She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Burns (Meg), Sean Burns (Amy) and Brian Burns; her grandchildren, Casey, Erin and Aidan; her great grandchildren, Olive and Hazel; and her sister Alice Haertlein.
