He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Ashby and Barbara Ashby (Adams); his in-laws, Eugene and Eileen Burford; and his grandsons, Jabez and Jozef.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel (Burford); his children, Michael Jr., Christian, Daniel, Julia and Tara; his grandchildren, Analise, Alaina, Angeliq, Jada, Janesia, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jhon, Jaliyah, Natalya, Elliana and Isabella; his great grandchild Marcus; and his siblings, Milton, Edward, Sharron and Debbie.
