He was predeceased by: his parents, David Swope and Lorain Swope; and his brother Barry. He is survived by: his wife Kathie; his children, Jaqueline Butcher (Bryan), George Jr. (Sharon) and Thomas (Amy); his adoptive daughter Tiffany Jones (Liz); his grandchildren, Bryan Jr., Brooke, Megan, Gavin, Matthew, Nathan and Addison; and his siblings, David, Scott (Donna), Lori Beckwith (Jack) and Karen Norris (Ray).

In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to Summa Hospice.
