He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Akins and Delcia Akins (Casto); his wife Barbara (Hausman); his children, Erin Kipp (Scott), Carolyn Thomas, Susan Jennings (John), Laura Orosz (Randy), Stacy Thomas, Lisa Thomas (Scott Rybkoski), Ryan Thomas (Janice) and Lori Carr (Rob); his siblings, Peg Thursby (John), Terry Akins, John Akins, Diane Dias (Joe), Cathy Franks and Bonnie Workman (Dane); and his former wife Sharon. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren.
