He was predeceased by: his wife Ora; his daughter Laura; and his sister Alcaria Gutierrez. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Benavidez of Lima, Carlos Benavidez of Union City, OH and Ramon Randall Benavidez of Greenville; his siblings, Ramon Benavidez (Elsa) of Van Wert, Tim Trigo (Amy) of Monroe, IN, Lupe Aguire (Armando), Rosa Miricle (Jerry) and Catherine Green (Larry); and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Xavier "Seve" and Tiffany. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
