He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond George and Hazel Charlotte Burkhart (Rothenstine); and his siblings, Raymond Burkhart, Jr. (Ida Mae Weaver), Earl Clyde Burkhart (Gladys Zantene), Audrey M. Kelley (Kenneth) and Ronald Lee Kail, Sr..

He is survived by: his children, Bridgett Burkhart (Robert Greenwalt, Jr.) and Joe Burkhart; his grandchildren, Robert Greenwalt, III and Kaydenc Greenwalt; his sister Erma Tufford; his half-siblings, Regina "Jinx" Smith (Jeff) and Rick Kail; and his niece Christina Coventry.
