He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Samuel and Martha Luella Carter (Morris); his son Monty J. Carter; his stepson Jeffrey Jones; and his sister Joyce Polen.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra J. Jones; his daughter Joni McClellan of Pataskala, Ohio; his stepson David Hoopingarner (Mindy) of Dennison; his grandchildren, Erika, Mason Hoopingarner of Dennison and Abby Wilson (Mitch) of Etna; and his close friends, Lee Hampton, Pam and Lonnie Sippel.
