He was predeceased by: his parents, Paskal L. "Pat" Akers Sr. and Hester A. Akers (Long); and his brother Paskal L. Akers Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia J. Taylor; his children, James I. Akers, Michelle Kirkpatrick (Ronald), Chris Akers (Tiffany), Dustin Howell (Elaina) and Jacob Akers (Natasha); and his grandchildren, Corey Beckett, Haylee Beckett, Blake Akers, Brityn Kirkpatrick, Carson Akers, Kullin Akers, Jensen Howell, Mia Akers and Lyla Howell.
