He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Jean McKinney Tharp (Metzger) and Howard Vernon Meek; his great grandchild Avaya Faith Western; and his stepfathers, Alvin McKinney and Donald Tharp.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Meek (Case); his sons, James Meek Jr. and Shawn Meek (Sharon); his daughter-in-law Jennifer Meek; his grandchildren, Austin Western (Maison), Coltin Meek, Alyssa Meek and Dakota "Otis" Smith; his great grandchildren, Piper Lou and Walker James Western; his sisters, Sheila Fisher and Galynn Studer (Robert); and his brother-in-law Ed Case (Charo). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
