He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ickes and Gladys Ickes (Seldenright); his brothers-in-law, Gary Carter and Ronald Weaver; his niece Saundra Wilson; and his sister-in-law Joy Ickes.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Ickes (Carter); his children, Shelly Morvay of Hilliard and Michael Ickes (Kathryn) of Chesterland, Ohio; his grandchildren, Sophia Morvay, Nathan Ickes (Hannah), Matthew Ickes and Noah Ickes; his siblings, Robert Ickes (Patricia), Al Ickes, Dale Ickes (Alice) and Mildred Weaver; and his brother-in-law Virgil Carter (Cathy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
