He was predeceased by: his daughter Yvette Filey; his parents, James Ross and Margaret Filey; and his siblings, Carol Flynn, Donald Filey, Milton Filey and Walter Filey.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Filey; and his brother James Filey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
