He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Ritzert and Marcella E. Ritzert; and his brother Gabriel. He is survived by: his siblings, James Ritzert (Martha) and Erika May (Fred); his nieces and nephews, Meredith May and Curtis May (Laurel); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddox and Jackson May. He is also survived by cousins from both sides of his family.
