He is survived by: his father Joseph Smith; his wife Vivian; his children, Donnie of Ohio, Ronnie of Kent, Kevin of Akron, Kim Smith of Ohio, Kenneth of Kent, Ronald (Kelley) of Columbus and Anthony Rall of Greensboro; his godson Ayden Houston of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his siblings, Valjean Peterson (Sharon Smith), Gaylord and Randolph Smith (Dolores); and his siblings-in-law, Rosie Campbell, Sherrie Lardell (Mulberry), George Mitchell Jr. (Debbie) and Charlie Mitchell. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
