He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Simecek and Helen Simecek; his wives, Annette Susan Simecek and Eleanor Irene Simecek; and his siblings, Janet Anderson, Richard and Robert Simecek.
He is survived by: his close friend Shirley Tryon; his children, Debra Simecek-Beatty (Terry) and Daniel J. Simecek, Jr. (Rovelyn); his grandchildren, Jessica, Kathryn, Daniel III, John and Joshua Simecek; and his sister Jeanne Stainbrook.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Twinsburg Fire Department, The Western Reserve Fire Museum or to Akron Children's Hospital Burn Unit.
