She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Lowell Hornbeck and Mary Ann Hornbeck (Cenky). She is survived by: her husband Fred J. Shook; her sister Linda Corrigan; her brother-in-law Jim Walker; her nephew Randy Walker; her children, Ron Shook (Sonia) of Troy, OH, Annette Smith (Ray) of Kettering, OH and Dan Shook (Connie) of Monclova, OH; her grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Anna Bruns (Jeff), Gabriella Shook, Marisa Zenas (Rob), Alexa Shook and Samson Shook; her brother-in-law Frank Corrigan of Raleigh, NC; her nephews, Rob Walker and Scott Corrigan; and her niece Chrisy Corrigan.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Riverside Cemetery Chapel (101 Riverside Dr, Troy, OH 45373).
Driven by her deep compassion for ensuring no one went hungry, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kettering Backpack Program or St. Patrick Soup Kitchen. Donations may also be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as she was grateful for the good health of her children and grandchildren and wanted to help those children in need.
