He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Goray and Annabell Goray (Galloway); and his brothers, Robert and Bobby Goray. He is survived by: his children, David L. 'Shorty Goray, Jr. (Jenny Wilson) of Toronto, Rachael Plunkett (Jason) of Hammondsville, OH and Misty Goray of Steubenville; his sister Diane Sneathen of Toronto; his grandchildren, Jaiden, Cody Plunkett, Lathan Goray (Lindsey Winstel), Landon and Jett Wertjes; and his great grandchildren, Violet, Skarlett and Bentley Plunkett.
