He was predeceased by: his parents, Jo Ann (Kelly) and Robert Gast; and his brothers, James Ross Gast, Sr. and Jack Michael Gast. He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, James Gast Jr. (Melissa), Daniel Gast (Karlee), Jessica Gast, Candice Dawson (Richard) and Hallie Garza (Christian).
