He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Hofmeister and Anna Hofmeister (Aigner); his wife Barbara; his former wife Martha Weislmeier; his daughter Julie Ann Hofmeister; his stepdaughter Michelle Szczur; and his brother Max Hofmeister.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Phillips (Gary) and Steven Hofmeister (Joanie); his stepchildren, Kim Markiecki and Scott Markiecki; his son-in-law Martin Szczur; his grandchildren, Melissa Bowers (Corey Lay), Jonny Hofmeister, Max Hofmeister, Britnye Peake (Dan), Alyssa Gruden (Brett), Taylor Markiecki, Seth Markiecki, Nick Szczur and Ashley Szczur; and his brothers, Robert (Sue) and Albert Hofmeister (Linda). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to Regina Coeli Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
