He is survived by: his children, Dawn Mettie (Irvin), Richard James Bails Jr., Steven Bails (Sue Bijarro) and Katie Bails; and his nieces, Sherry, Shawna, Ronda and Tina. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
