The passing of Merle G. Smith of Toledo, Ohio, born in Tiffin, Ohio leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 5, 2024 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Smith and Goldie Mae Smith (Bolen); and his brothers, Charles, Donald, Paul, Martin, Melvin and James Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn J. Smith; his sons, Brian (Judith) and Kelvin Smith (Theresa); his grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Bridget Sniadecki, Delaney Smith, Benjamin Smith, Jessica and Ronnie Ziethlow; and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Nala, Elijah, Aubrey and Chase.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
