He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvador Duran and Marjorie Duran (Black); and his siblings, Robert Duran and Linda Duran. He is survived by: his granddaughter Allyson Souder; his children, Kendra J. Duran (Joey Rizzolo), Brittney R. Baney (Aaron Baney) and Ian M. Duran; his grandchildren, Brooke Carrick, Taylor Rowe, Peyton Bishop, Cassidy Souder and Lucas Souder; and his stepmother Carmelita Duran.
He requested that any memorials in his honor be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, an organization he regularly donated to.
