He was predeceased by: his aunts, Susan Bushroe, Phyllis Hartman, Cheryl Raab and Terry Auchmuty; and his uncle Larry Jones.

He is survived by: his parents, John V. Hammye (Dena) and Mary Ann Hammye (Jones); his siblings, Steve Hammye, Cindy Hammye and Jason Montalvo; and his niece Demari Montalvo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
