He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Douglas and Ali Mae Douglas; his son James Douglas, Jr.; and his siblings, Arlene Williams, Willie Mae Douglas, Linda Kay Gentry, Ralph Douglas, Jr., William James Douglas and Willie Fred Douglas.
He is survived by: his daughter Marlene Douglas; his grandson Miles Bishop; his sisters, Bettye Beard and Charlotte Mallory; and his aunt Oteria Mosley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
