He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alphonso Freeman and Essie Mae Freeman; and his siblings, Royce, John, William Alphonso Jr., Charles Leroy Sr., Columbus and Alean Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Erma; his children, Anthony, Kirby and Deela Gowdy (Andre); his grandchildren, Jordan Freeman, Andrea, Kiara and Mya Gowdy; his great grandchildren, Taylor and Peyton; and his siblings, Joyce Webb, Willie Mae Freeman, Beatrice Louise Burgess, Mearl Lee Wade, Katie Elizabeth West and Raymond Freeman (Lucy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
