He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar A. Johnston and Rosemary H. Johnston; the mother of his children Della (McClug); and his sister-in-law Elizabeth "Liz" Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Dewulf (Smith); his siblings, Karen Murray (John) of Hebron, KY. and Larry Johnston of Brooklyn, MI.; his children, David A. Johnston (Rachel) of Sebastian, FL. and Lisa B. Johnston of Toledo, OH; his stepchildren, Mandi (Todd) and Greg Dewulf (Sarah) of Maumee, OH; his grandchildren, Paityn, Ian and Evelyn Johnston; and his stepchildren, Olivia, Harvey, Isabella Brinkman, Alexa, Cameron, Jake and Madison Dewulf. He is also survived by two aunts, nieces and nephews, many cousins, and scores of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Church of St. Andrew United Methodist (3620 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614).
