It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ella Divinity McCadney of Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Divinity-Turner (Stanley) and Elijah Divinity-Turner (Fannie); her close friend Roosevelt Calvin; her husband Sammie T. McCadney; her siblings, Annie Pearl Lee (Herman), Flora Evans (Sammie), Naomi McKnight (James), Dorothy Donalson (Norman), Arthur Russom, Stanley Turner, Otis Turner and Bernard Turner; and her sons, Samuel A. McCadney, Sr. and Tyrone N. McCadney, Sr..
She is survived by: her siblings, Genevieve Turner, Annie Ruth Turner, Francis Ann Turner, Lillie Ann Turner, Jewel Hammond (Edward) and Rufus Turner; her nieces, YeVetta D. Lewis-Massey, Cynthia Lee (Holman) and Asian Andrews; and her grandchildren, Kanika Kincey (Hezron), Shaquala Calvin, Precious Calvin, Shalisha Hooper, Michael Smith, Sr., Alicia McNeal, Cassandra Hogue, Robert Davis, Trey Harris, Treyon Andrews, Samia McCadney, Aaronea McCadney, Tyler Harris, Alissa Andrews, Tyrone N. McCadney, Jr., Rachel Hair, Tyra McCadney, Seth Hair, Troy Harris, Samuel A. McCadney, Jr., Shyon McCadney, Trey Andrews, George Hair III, Christopher Hair, Michael Hair, Andrew Martin, Marie Mitchell and Christian Hair. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, great cousins, friends.
She would say, "If my donations save one life, I've done my job.". Ella encouraged everyone to donate blood, and continued to donate well into her sixties.
