He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton A. Shier and Beatrice Shier (Butler); his daughter Cathy Ann Shier (Jeanne Ruth); and his grandson Eric Shier. He is survived by: his wife Catherine C. Shier (Sterzel); his son Terry Shier (Janice); and his grandson Joel Shier.
