He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard C. Surface and Ella M. Surface (Lenz); his son Jeffrey Surface; and his sister Vivian Humphreys. He is survived by: his wife Barbara of Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church; his son Bradley Surface (Lisa); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Surface; his grandchildren, Shawn Surface (Savannah), Stephanie Sabounchi (Mutch), Kyle Surface (Katie), Adam Surface, Lambertville, Heidi Surface and Tampa; his great grandchildren, Riley, Teagan, Kennedy, Colby and Rosie; his caregivers, Hailey, Jessica Thomas and Sonya Adams; his mother-in-law Nancy Cortez; and his niece Lori Beckman. He is also survived by his family and friends.
