She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Birkmeier and Mary Birkmeier; her husband Phillip D Axe; her children, Susan Axe and Charles Axe; her grandson Corey Axe; her great grandchild Miles Fern; and her brother Don Birkmeier.

She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Axe, Timothy Axe (Amanda), Anna Axe, Rita Haase (Jeffery), Julie Axe and Joseph Axe (Robin); her grandchildren, Joseph Axe II, Jared Haase (Lexi), Carrie Axe, Austin Axe, Clayton Axe, Alyssa Axe (John Harris), Jack Haase, Elle Axe, Lizzie Axe, James Axe and Michael Axe; her great grandchild Vera Fern; and her brother John Birkmeier (Char).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo, Make a Wish or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
