With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfonso Zapata of Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on September 28, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Tiburcio Zapata and Guadalupe Zapata (Ledezma); and his siblings, Raymundo, Reinalda, Maria Santos, Apolonia and Epifania.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Soledad; his children, Maria G. Carmona (Ignacio), Maribel Saldivar (Eberardo), Alfonso Zapata Jr. (Monica) and Veronica Sinift (Joshua); his grandchildren, Antonio, Clarisa, Yulisa, Emily of Alan, A. J., Diego, Adrian and Julian; and his brothers, Apolonio, Miguel, Manuel and Juan.
