He is survived by: his parent Ruth Mae Laporte (Garbrandt); his siblings, Howdy, Chuck, Bob Laporte and June Cannon; his grandson Jack Smrekar; his wife Verna M. Gilmore; his grandchildren, Taylor Laporte, Reganne Laporte, Jeff, Joe, Jessie Smrekar, Clay Scott and Kayla Scott; his great grandchildren, Matthew Smrekar, Ellie Smrekar and Emersyn Lowery; and his siblings-in-law, Alice Laporte, Pat Laporte and Alfred Cannon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
