She was predeceased by: her parents, James Fay and Hazel Mae Paul Funkhouser; her former husband Kenneth Clifton; her husband Harold Carey; her brothers, Donal and James Funkhouser; and her stepgrandsons, John and Robert Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sonnie Clifton (Jeff Peters) of Huber Heights, Ohio and Jan G. Clifton of Wilmington; her grandson Doug Owens (Erin Doerstler) of Richmond, Indiana; her great grandchild Sydney Owens (Brandt Stapleton) of Centerville, Indiana; her stepdaughters, Diann Smith of Hagerstown, Maryland and Donna Carey of Hagerstown, Maryland; her stepgrandson Lee Smith; and her brother Robert Funkhouser (Marilyn) of Florida. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
