He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Ernest and Edith; his wives, Rae Maye Johnson (Enders) and Joyce Victoria; and his siblings, Paul A. Johnson and Margaret Bast.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas D. Johnson (Alice) of Madison Heights, Cynthia R. Hoerman (Stewart) of Canton and Daniel Johnson (Mary) of Holland, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Eva Bush (Larry), Ben Bush, Naomi Bush, Carrie Franklin (Nate), Kyle Johnson, Lucas Johnson, Derek Hoerman (Emily), Dana Hoerman, Darsi Haning (Jonathan) and Nate Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Gabe Johnson (Carmen) and Claire Johnson.
