He was predeceased by: his father Clyde D. Fortney; his wife Mildred Marie (Heilman); his daughters, Barbara and Linda Fortney; and his grandson Jason Fortney.
He is survived by: his children, LaDonna Tarris of Clyde, Ronald Fortney (Paula) of Tiffin, Sharon Dymond (Joe) of Tiffin, Duane "Sam" Fortney of Tiffin and Sandra Fortney (Dennis Dlugo) of Walton Hills, OH. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
