He was predeceased by: his father Eugene Steele. He is survived by: his mother Rose Steele Sr. (Overmyer); his children, Elizabeth Steele (Anthony) of Tiffin, Robert Steele Jr. (Alyson) of Bloomville, Wesley Steele (Presley) of Tiffin, Destiny Steele (Tayen) of Bloomville and William Steele (Christina Dezanett) of Tiffin; his siblings, Eugene "Skip" Steele Jr. (Crystal) of Tiffin and Melissa Altman of Fostoria; his nephews, Brandon Steele (Sierra) of Findlay, Joey Steele of Tiffin and Josh Steele of Tiffin; and his great-niece Payson of Findlay. He is also survived by 7 grand-children.
