He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Gabel and Grace Gabel (Willy); and his siblings, Janet Crosby (Harry), James Gabel (Eileen) and Michael Gabel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Richard Jr. of Austin, Texas, Randy (Beth) of Worthington, Ohio, Theresa Walden (Jerry) of Westerville, Ohio, Robert (Amy) of Delaware, Ohio and Rodney (Heather) of Vestal, NY; his grandchildren, Ashley (Dilan), Ryan, Tyler, Jason, Daniel, Paul, Anne-Marie, Audrey and Hannah; and his sister-in-law Barb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church and Bridge Hospice of Findlay.
