He was predeceased by: his parents, Jason Smith and Betty Smith. He is survived by: his former spouse Fay Thompson; his sons, Ethan Smith, Josh Smith and Jacob Smith; and his sisters, Mary Bryant, Sarah Sweet, Susan Wimmer, Sylvia Smith, Cheryl Smith, Candy Smith, Kim Weaver and Lynn Distel.
